MINI WHEELERS ARE KICKING OFF AT SOUTHSIDE

 

Mini Wheelers are riders aged 2-5 years that are beginning BMX racing.

They ride balance bikes or Strider bikes.

The aim is to get them into the sport and excited about BMX racing.

When they are ready, they can transition onto a BMX racing bike with pedals.


MEMBERSHIP

They will need a membership licence to race. This can be used at any track throughout Australia.

Go to AusCycling website https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial

and start with a 4 Week Free Trial membership, if they love bmx and wish to continue simply sign them up after the 4 weeks - you will be sent a reminder email before their continuation membership is due.


YOU WILL NEED

Balance or Strider bike.

Helmet, can be any bike helmet, but preferably a full face BMX helmet.

Gloves - buy from a bike shop.

Long sleeve top, long pants and sneakers.

You can buy BMX jersey and pants.


WEEKLY RACING AT SOUTHSIDE

Nominate at the Nominations Hut, costs $3 per week for 4 motos (races).

Nominations are from 2.15pm - 3pm.


Meet the Mini Wheelers Coordinator Bianca Campbell starting on the second berm at

3.10pm - 3.25pm for Racing 4 motos (races). Races are not scored, they are for fun!


TROPHIES

We have 3 rounds per year, so 3 trophy presentations.

All Mini Wheelers that qualify receive a trophy.


TO QUALIFY

You can miss a maximum 3 weeks of racing per round (Non scoring weeks do not count); A parent must volunteer 2 times per round, name must go in the Volunteer book at the canteen.


PARTICIPATION MEDALS

Medals are presented if you race every week, non-scoring weeks do not count.

A parent must volunteer 2 times per round.


SUPER SERIES

Mini Wheelers can race at Super Series and States - all riders receive a trophy.

They are held once per month at tracks around Perth and country tracks, see Southside calendar for dates or go to BMX Sports WA website to enter.
